Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Respiratory Care Practitioner to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. This vital role involves providing comprehensive respiratory therapy services to patients across various clinical settings, including hospital medicine, emergency medicine, intensive care units, neonatal units, and outpatient clinics. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in respiratory devices, ventilator management, airway management, and patient assessment. They will contribute significantly to patient care by delivering advanced respiratory interventions, supporting critical and acute care needs, and ensuring optimal respiratory function. Responsibilities

  • Administer respiratory therapies such as oxygen delivery, aerosol treatments, and bronchopulmonary hygiene procedures with precision and adherence to physician orders.
  • Manage ventilator support for patients requiring mechanical ventilation, including setting parameters, monitoring responses, and adjusting as necessary.
  • Perform thorough patient assessments by evaluating vital signs, respiratory status, and physiological data to inform treatment plans.
  • Operate and troubleshoot a wide range of medical equipment including respiratory devices, monitors, and airway management tools.
  • Respond promptly to cardiac arrest emergencies and participate in resuscitation efforts following neonatal resuscitation procedures when applicable.
  • Maintain accurate documentation within Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems to ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans for patients across diverse populations such as pediatrics, geriatrics, neonates, and trauma cases.
  • Support hospital initiatives related to critical & intensive care units (ICU), Level I & II trauma centers, outpatient clinics, and specialized pulmonology services.
  • Stay current with advances in respiratory therapy techniques and physiology knowledge to enhance patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • Certification as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) or equivalent credential recognized by relevant health authorities.
  • Proven experience in hospital environments with exposure to emergency medicine, ICU settings, neonatal resuscitation procedures, and critical care.
  • Proficiency in ventilator management, airway management techniques, and the operation of advanced respiratory devices.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy knowledge related to the respiratory system, and physiology principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform patient assessments accurately while maintaining attention to vital signs and overall clinical condition.
  • Experience working with electronic health records (EHR) systems such as EMR platforms for documentation and data management.
  • Knowledge of medication administration relevant to respiratory therapy when applicable.
  • Ability to work effectively within high-pressure situations such as cardiac arrest emergencies or trauma responses.
  • Excellent communication skills coupled with a compassionate approach toward patient care across diverse age groups including pediatrics and geriatrics.
  • Prior experience in hospital settings such as Level I or Level II trauma centers is highly desirable.
