We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (Surgery) to join our dynamic healthcare team. Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough preoperative assessments, including vital signs, medical history review, and patient education on surgical procedures.
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of sterile fields, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques during operative procedures.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs continuously during surgery and anesthesia administration, responding promptly to any deviations.
  • Administer medications safely, including IV infusions, injections, and sedation as prescribed by physicians.
  • Manage postoperative care by assessing pain levels, wound care, and monitoring for signs of complications such as infection or bleeding.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and physical therapists—to coordinate seamless patient care.
  • Document all nursing activities accurately within electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Provide patient education on postoperative care plans, medication management, and recovery expectations.
  • Support patients with complex needs such as those requiring dialysis access management or long-term care planning.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives focused on infection control, trauma medicine protocols, and patient safety standards.

Requirements

  • Valid RN license in the relevant jurisdiction with current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
  • Minimum of three years’ experience working in surgical units or operating rooms within hospital settings.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner; familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10) is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of sterile processing techniques and aseptic procedures.
  • Experience managing patients with acute pain or requiring complex postoperative interventions.
  • Skilled in IV insertion, catheterization, suturing, and tube feeding management.
  • Familiarity with critical care environments including ICU or Level I/II trauma centers is advantageous.
  • Excellent clinical assessment skills combined with effective communication abilities across diverse patient populations.
  • Knowledge of infection control protocols and experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is desirable.
  • Ability to adapt quickly in emergency situations such as trauma response or urgent surgical interventions.
