Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Settlement Negotiator specializing in Personal Injury Law to join our dynamic legal team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and negotiating claims related to personal injury cases, ensuring fair and efficient resolution for clients and insurance providers. Duties

  • Evaluate personal injury claims by reviewing medical reports, accident reports, and relevant documentation to determine liability and damages.
  • Negotiate settlements with claimants, attorneys, and insurance adjusters to reach equitable resolutions efficiently.
  • Analyze claims data using advanced software such as Xactimate and estimating tools for accurate property and casualty damage assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with insurance regulations and internal policies during all stages of claims adjudication and settlement negotiations.
  • Detect potential fraud indicators through thorough analysis skills and implement preventive measures accordingly.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, legal representatives, and internal teams to provide updates and clarify claim details.
  • Collaborate with claims adjusters, legal counsel, and underwriters to facilitate smooth claims processing and resolution.
  • Maintain detailed records of negotiations, correspondence, and case progress within financial software systems.
  • Stay informed about changes in insurance law, regulation updates, and industry best practices to uphold high standards of regulatory compliance.
  • Assist in training junior staff on claims negotiation techniques, fraud detection methods, and software utilization.

Skills

  • Proven experience in property insurance claims processing, casualty insurance, or personal injury law.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to influence outcomes positively while maintaining professionalism.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) along with specialized estimating software such as Xactimate.
  • Knowledge of insurance law, claims adjudication processes, and regulatory frameworks governing insurance claims.
  • Expertise in fraud prevention and detection techniques relevant to insurance claims.
  • Familiarity with auto estimating tools and property damage assessment methodologies.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously under tight deadlines.
  • Effective client communication skills that foster trust and clarity throughout the claims process.
  • Analytical mindset capable of interpreting complex data sets related to liability and damages.
  • Experience using financial software for claims adjusting purposes is highly desirable.
