Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Family Law Attorney to join our legal team. This role involves providing comprehensive legal counsel and representation in family law matters, including divorce, child custody, visitation, adoption, and related issues. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in family law and a commitment to advocating for clients with professionalism and integrity. Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in family law cases, including divorce proceedings, child custody disputes, and spousal support matters.
  • Draft legal documents such as petitions, pleadings, settlement agreements, and court motions with precision.
  • Conduct legal research using platforms like LexisNexis and Westlaw to stay current on relevant statutes and case law.
  • Prepare for and participate in court depositions, hearings, and trials to advocate effectively on behalf of clients.
  • Negotiate settlements that align with clients' best interests while maintaining professionalism and strategic insight.
  • Communicate clearly with clients regarding case progress, legal options, and procedural requirements.
  • Manage multiple cases efficiently through effective legal case management practices.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on complex litigation strategies involving general & commercial litigation or other related areas as needed.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of case files, correspondence, and court filings to ensure compliance with procedural law standards.
  • Stay informed about updates in family law statutes, regulations, and best practices to provide accurate legal counsel.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school; admission to the state bar is required.
  • Proven experience practicing family law with a strong understanding of procedural law knowledge.
  • Familiarity with legal research tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw.
  • Demonstrated ability in negotiation, legal advocacy, and courtroom litigation.
  • Experience handling personal injury cases or related litigation is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Excellent writing skills for drafting pleadings, motions, and client correspondence.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for managing multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of statutory legal research methods relevant to family law issues.
  • Prior law office experience emphasizing client communication and legal motion preparation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while maintaining independence in case management.
