Job Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Employment Law Paralegals to join our legal team. This role involves providing comprehensive support in employment-related legal matters, including litigation, compliance, and advisory services. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in various areas of law relevant to employment issues, demonstrate exceptional research and drafting skills, and support attorneys in managing complex cases efficiently. Responsibilities
Assist attorneys with all phases of employment law cases, including case intake, document review, and preparation of legal filings.
Conduct thorough legal research on statutes, regulations, and case law related to employment issues such as wrongful termination, discrimination, wage and hour disputes, and workplace safety.
Draft and review legal documents including pleadings, discovery requests, subpoenas, settlement agreements, and correspondence.
Manage case files using document management systems such as iManage and PCLaw; ensure all records are accurate, organized, and compliant with confidentiality standards.
Coordinate client interviews and witness statements while maintaining professional communication standards.
Support litigation activities by preparing exhibits, timelines, and summaries for court proceedings or negotiations.
Monitor deadlines and court schedules to ensure timely filings and compliance with procedural law requirements.
Assist with compliance audits related to employment laws and regulations; compile reports for internal review.
Collaborate with attorneys on project management tasks to streamline workflow and improve case handling efficiency.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legal developments in areas such as tribal law & regulations, UCC law (Uniform Commercial Code), workers’ compensation law, personal injury law, family law, securities law, patent law, environmental law, and immigration law.
Requirements
Paralegal certification or equivalent legal support experience with a minimum of three years working within employment or civil litigation settings.
Proficiency in legal research tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw; strong analytical skills for interpreting complex statutes and case law.
Extensive experience with legal case management software including iManage and PCLaw; familiarity with document review processes.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to draft clear legal documents and communicate effectively with clients and team members.
Knowledge of procedural law requirements across various jurisdictions; understanding of civil litigation support processes.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for drafting documents and managing correspondence.
Experience handling confidential information with integrity; proven ability to maintain discretion at all times.
Ability to perform legal research thoroughly; familiarity with legal writing standards for drafting memos or reports.
Demonstrated capability in client communication techniques including interviewing skills; professionalism in phone etiquette.
