Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Emergency Room Registered Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Perform thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history documentation using advanced EMR/EHR systems.
- Deliver immediate emergency interventions such as airway management, IV infusion, suturing, and aseptic technique to stabilize patients.
- Manage acute pain through appropriate medication administration and non-pharmacological methods while ensuring compliance with pain management protocols.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients with complex needs including trauma, infectious diseases, or chronic conditions.
- Conduct diagnostic evaluations utilizing laboratory testing, specimen collection/processing, and interpretation of diagnostic imaging such as CT scans or sonography.
- Assist in procedures requiring specialized skills such as catheterization (cardiac or urinary), ventilator management, or neonatal resuscitation procedures.
- Maintain detailed medical documentation adhering to HIPAA regulations and ensure accurate coding using ICD-10/ICD-9 standards for billing purposes.
- Participate in discharge planning and patient education to promote recovery at home or in long-term care settings.
- Ensure infection control protocols are strictly followed to prevent hospital-acquired infections.
- Provide support during high-stakes situations including Level I and Level II trauma cases or critical care scenarios in ICU or PICU environments.
Qualifications
- Valid RN license with current registration; additional certifications such as BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), or Neonatal Resuscitation Program are required.
- Minimum of two years of emergency room experience in a Level I or Level II trauma center preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks.
- Extensive critical care experience including ICU, trauma medicine, or post-operative recovery is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of advanced procedures including suturing, catheterization (cardiac or urinary), ventilator management, and infectious disease protocols.
- Familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), laboratory experience, specimen collection/processing, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, physiology knowledge, and anatomy relevant to emergency medicine.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities.
- Ability to perform under pressure in high-stakes environments while maintaining professionalism and compassion.
