Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive speech and language assessments, develop individualized therapy plans, and deliver effective interventions to diverse patient populations, including pediatric, adult, and geriatric clients. This role is vital in enhancing communication abilities, improving quality of life, and supporting patients with speech, language, and swallowing disorders. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in speech-language pathology principles, excellent collaboration skills, and a passion for patient-centered care.
Duties
- Conduct thorough speech and language evaluations to identify communication impairments across various age groups.
- Develop and implement evidence-based speech-language therapy plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Provide direct therapy services through in-person sessions or telehealth platforms, ensuring accessibility for all patients.
- Collaborate closely with families, caregivers, educators, and multidisciplinary teams to support holistic patient care.
- Educate patients and their families on communication strategies, therapy goals, and progress updates.
- Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Stay informed about current best practices in speech-language pathology and incorporate innovative techniques into therapy sessions.
- Participate in team meetings to coordinate care plans for patients with complex needs or disabilities.
- Support early intervention programs by providing services to young children with developmental delays.
- Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities related to pediatrics, geriatrics, or specialized populations such as individuals with speech impairments or disabilities.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program; valid state licensure or certification required.
- Proven experience working with children in pediatric settings or early intervention programs.
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to speech and swallowing functions.
- Familiarity with comprehensive speech and language evaluation tools and techniques.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or speech impairments across diverse populations.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology related to communication disorders.
- Proficiency in using EMR/EHR systems for documentation and patient management.
- Telehealth experience preferred; ability to adapt therapy methods for virtual delivery.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Ability to work with geriatric patients or those requiring specialized care is a plus.
